Welsh Blood Service brand identity
Peter Gill & Associates has created a major new brand identity for the Welsh Blood Service. The brief was to update the current brand to make it more contemporary and engage better with a younger audience. Previously the Welsh Blood Service did not have an overall brand. Different fonts and styles were used for a range of different materials.
The logo of the two hearts was made a lot simpler and clearer by stripping out the detail. The crown above the hearts was removed along with details of veins which was felt to be a bit obscure. The new logo was carried across corporate stationery, roller banners, pvc banners, internal signage, leaflets and posters.
A poster campaign was created for the clinic where people give blood. The aim was to thank people for giving blood. We created the campaign line ‘Because of you…’. One execution for example featured a mother and baby with the line ‘Because of you I’m up three times a night. I couldn’t be happier’.
New TV and radio commercials featured the new campaign line ‘If giving is in your blood, please help’. These were created along with a new look website which is being launched soon.
